after figuring out how to record with less background hiss and with the headphone mic picking up tones more strongly, i wanted to re-record old songs in better quality… so that’s what i’ve been doing. now as a long-term project, i hope to add a new song here and there to create a playlist long enough to listen to like an album!
i got rid of my blog. i got rid of facebook. i’ve deleted myself out of almost everything at the end of 2011. something was shifting inside of me and suddenly i no longer wanted to exist vicariously through profile creeping and wall posts anymore. i wanted a real, solid, tangible existence again. but i felt something missing: i miss having a voice, forming my identity, experimenting with ideas, songwriting and structures, playing with words… this blog used to be such an integral part of my self-exploration, a search for definition and redefinition in my mid-20’s. now as i approach my third decade, i feel like i have less to search for, less to experiment with, less identity to form, no more voice to find. then why tumblr again? because i have something to sing, a song to play, a picture to share, some prose and poetry to write. my hope is that this blog will inspire me to be as introspective as i once was, balancing out my extrospective career path.
